Pre Care

* No alcohol, asprin, or any medication that will thin the blood (unless instructed by your doctor) at least 24 hours prior to procedure. Thinning of blood can inhibit pigment saturation.

*You must be off of antibiotics 1-2 weeks prior to procedure. Check with your doctor first before booking.

* No caffeine 3-5 hours prior to procedure. This can inhibit anesthetic from working properly.

* You must not be on acne medication. You must be off accutane for at least one year.

* Do not take Fish Oil at least 1 week prior to your appointment.

* No tanning before procedure and no direct sunlight at least 5 days after.

* Due to higher sensitivity during your menstrual cycle, it may be necessary to schedule an appointment accordingly.

* You may wear makeup the day of consultation/procedure.

* You must not be pregnant or nursing.

* Any facial , laser treatments or peels may cause the skin to be very sensitive. It's best to allow the skin to recover first. Be advised by your esthetician when it is best to receive your permanent makeup procedure.

* Eyebrow procedure - If you are planning to, it may be best to wax or tweeze at least 48 hours from your procedure date. You can also come to the appointment without grooming your brows at all.

* lip procedure - If you have a history or concerns regarding cold sores or fever blisters (herpes simplex I) it is recommended that you contact your physician to obtain necessary medications to help prevent or maintain outbreaks.

Eyeliner

* If you have severe glaucoma or sensitive eyes, this procedure is not recommended unless approved by your doctor.

* If you had eye surgery, it is recommended to wait at least 6 months before doing a procedure.

* Contact lenses may not be worn during procedure. Glasses need to be used post procedure and 3-5 days after instead of contact lenses to insure proper healing.

* If you are using eyelash growth serums, such as Latisse, Revitalash, etc., some serums may prematurely fade the permanent makeup

* No lash extensions the day of the procedure or after until the eyeliner tattoo has healed for at least 2-4 weeks.

AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Proper care following your procedure is required to achieve optimum results. If the aftercare instructions are not followed correctly, an unpredictable amount of color may be lost. Please follow the directions below as specified by your technician.

(Follow instructions given by the technician the day of your procedure. After care instructions may be different with each client.)

1.  KEEP PROCEDURE AREA CLEAN & DRY

Do not touch the procedure area during the healing process as much a possible to avoid bacteria infection. Avoid direct shower spray. If water gets on area, gently blot dry with a clean dry napkin (don’t get the area soaking wet, keep area as dry as possible, the dryer the better). Avoid makeup application directly on the area, do not expose treated area to hot tubs, saunas, swimming, excessive sun, facial cleansers, toners or lotions, and no heavy exercising for 5-7 days.

IMPORTANCE! ~ The treated area is an open wound and if not taken care of properly and kept clean, an infection may occur! If your brows get infected, the area may reject ALL the pigment!

2. APPLY AFTERCARE CREAM

(After care cream can be applied on the second day if the area feels tight and dry. The cream may not even be needed if your skin is more oily)

When flaking/scabbing begins 2-3 days after, apply a very thin layer of ointment (that will be provided to you) to the procedure area 1-2x a day with a clean cotton swab or clean fingers for 5-7 days or until flaking is done. Do not apply too much ointment to the area; if you have oily skin, less ointment is needed and if you have dry skin, more ointment may be needed. The flaking should look very thin and should not come off in big pieces. (Please follow instructions directed by your technician. At times, ointment is not needed if flaking is coming off on its own- (mostly for eyeliner). Ointment is NOT for healing; it is to soften the flaking to help it come off easily).

Lip Procedure – Be sure to keep your lips moisturized at all times. Apply a thin layer of ointment to lips on day 1 because lips will feel very dry and taunt, but also blot if you see any oozing.

IMPORTANCE! ~ This should be done when brows start to feel tight, dry, and “scabby”. This will help to keep the flaking soft so it won’t peel off harshly, therefore, keeping more pigment in the skin. If too much ointment is used, the area may be suffocated and not be able to heal properly.

ONLY IF INSTRUCTED BY TECHNICIAN

3. GENTLY BLOT PROCEDURE AREA

(Blotting is usually done while you are with the technician. The technician will inform you if you need to keep blotting after the appointment or if it can be discontinued)

Monitor the area for any oozing of lymph, blood, and plasma secretion (this is normal). Blot the secretion away with a clean dry napkin by pressing area gently but firmly. This step is very important because if bodily fluids remain on the area(s), a thick scab will develop and inhibit color pigment saturation. BLOT AFTER YOU RINSE! Blotting may be discontinued when the secretion stops. Oozing may occur for 2-3 days.

IMPORTANCE! ~ This step is very important because if bodily fluids remain on the area(s), a thick scab will develop and inhibit color pigment saturation. BLOT EVERY TIME AFTER YOU RINSE!

4. RINSE THE PROCEDURE AREA

(If needed, rinsing can be done ONLY the morning after if there is build up or crusting over the area. If the area is smooth and flat, then it DOES NOT need to be rinsed)

First, gently wet brows with cool or lukewarm water. Second, lather up a mild cleanser on clean fingers and gently but firmly rub over the area to remove any excess crusting (You can put a good amount of pressure when rinsing but do not scrub excessively hard). Thirdly, rinse the area with water to remove cleanser, (the area should feel completely flat and smooth). Finally, blot dry with a clean dry napkin.

It is important to keep the procedure area DRY and FLAT! After rinsing, continue to BLOT DRY until secretion stops.

IMPORTANCE! ~ It is important to keep the procedure area DRY & FLAT! This rinsing process should be done fairly quickly as to not get the area soaking wet. After rinsing, continue to BLOT DRY until secretion stops. If rinsing and blotting is not done, color may not retain in the skin when scabbing occurs.

5. ICE THE PROCEDURE AREA

(Only if instructed by technician)

The area may be swollen and tender for up to 72 hours. As long as the area is swollen, continue to ice down. Ice for about 10-15 minutes at a time, take a break, and then continue to ice until swelling goes down. Place ice into a bag over a dry paper towel to prevent ice from sticking to skin.

Eyeliner Procedure – Swelling may peak the next morning. Keep salt intake to a minimum to prevent excessive swelling.

IMPORTANCE! ~ Icing until the swelling and irritation is down will help pigment settle and heal properly into the skin. If swelling continues, pigment may not settle into the skin when healed. Very important to get the swelling down as fast as possible, especially for the eyeliner procedure.

WHAT TO EXPECT

* Darkness, thickness, and unevenness of shape right after the procedure is normal due to swelling.

* Dryness on the procedure area 3-4 days after the procedure.

* Flaking will come off unevenly (after 5 days, makeup can be applied to area).

* Tenderness, dryness, and itching are normal during the healing process. When flaking occurs, do not pick, peel, or scratch. The color may heal unevenly. Scarring and infection could also be at risk.

* When flaking/scabbing is done, the color will appear very light or also slightly pinkish due to tenderness of tissue. This is normal, allow the dermal layer of the skin to heal and the color will slightly darken after 4 weeks.

* An unpredictable amount of color will be lost (approximately between 20%-60%+). In some cases due to scarring (from previous tattooing), large pores, oily skin, certain skin types, or medication, color may not appear at all. It is unforeseen how much color your body will retain.

* Lip Procedure: Do not eat any type of citrus fruits, oily, hot, spicy, and seafoods. No kissing or stretching of the mouth. Drink from a straw if possible for 5-7 days or until healed. Due to unknown Herpes simplex I virus (cold sores on the outer edge of mouth), a breakout of lesions may occur around area of application. I understand that a breakout may occur and I accept the risks and complications that may be involved.

PLEASE CALL IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS OCCUR

* Excessive swelling that moves outside of the procedural area.

* Inflammation, itchiness, irritation of the tissue around the procedural area after 72 hours.

* Oozing of yellowish secretion or sharp pain in the procedural area.

* Due to exposure to environmental bacteria during the healing period, there is always a low risk of infection to the procedural site.

WHAT TO AVOID WHEN BROWS ARE HEALED

* Excessive sweating

* Swimming

* Oily Skin

* Avoid using exfoliants or stripping facial products directly over brows. (May be used around brows)
